​There are many wonderful ways to enjoy time with your family and friends here in the Coachella Valley. Here are 30 free things to do in the Greater Palm Springs area that include science and art museums, parks, nature trails, and information about the amazing state and national parks nearby.

  • Science Snacks from the Exploratorium: Simple, fun activities that can easily be done at home. The Exploratorium also has two iOS apps: Color Uncovered and Sound Uncovered, as well as an Android app, developed with Google, and activities called Science Journal.
  • Smithsonian Kids has lots of activities and Web Cams on the animals at the National Zoo.
  • Science Kids has games and activities on the Web to have fun learning about science.
  • Puzzles and games for K-8 students from the National Institutes of Environmental Health Science (NIEHS).
  • Opportunities for high school students with NASA.
  • NASA Kids' Club for K-12 youth.
